I have an income dataset and house sales dataset with a different number of records, I need to integrate these two together using R. I thought I need to create a new column in the income dataset that has the available options for each record based on the monthly income of employees and household income per month( I thought if the price equals or lower then it is an option). But I do not know if it is considered as integration or not? or if it is a good solution, I would appreciate it if someone can explain it to me.

It is possible to integrate two database based on the common reference. This can also be done in Excel too. I am not familiar much about R. However, based on the common identical reference available in both datasets, the integration of them can be possible.
If you find convenient, you can send me the dataset in Excel, I can do the needful for integrating them and send you back. If you send them, please let me know the common identical reference as a base for integration.

To make you both understand, I have attached an Excel file as an example of database integration.
In the file, the 1sr database has SN, HH_Ref, Gender and Age.
In the 2nd dataset, there are SN, HH_Ref, and Income.
Please note that in both datasets, the HH_ref is the identical common field to refer and integrate the two databases.
Accordingly, the 3rd database is produced to integrate the 1st and 2nd datasets using the INDEX and MATCH formula.
Please refer the command in the file for your knowledge and references.
Hope this will help you both understanding the database integration in EXCEL.

HH_Ref as a key to combine its datasets.
create new sheet, and combine its with vlookup in excel, and save as .csv for use it in R.
I think it depends on the type of data that are intended to be integrated and as a result it is almost impossible or illogical to be able to give one and specific answer. Depending on the type of data and for what purpose the data can be integrated in different ways.

I agree with you as the two types of data are similar they can be combined wthout any problem. But, we should not forget to take into consideraton as to why we want to combine these two sets of data.

Thank you all and sorry for the late reply, I actually integrated them using a filter and an if statement (if the value of dataset 1 = dataset 2 integrate them or look for the closest number and integrate them) I do not know if it is a good solution or not but I thought this is the most logical solution. I appreciate your replies and I read each one of them.
