I am planning to take measurements on Rate of photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, water use efficiency etc using TPS -2 (Portable photosynthetic meter -PP system) If any body know how to take leaf ares from this instrument?
The cuvette given is for broad leaves with default value 4.5cm2. Can this mechine measure actual leaf area in each plant as other parameters?
but I am measuring rice leaves and not cover the cuvette. Thats the problem.
I guess you are using the default cuvette that came with the system. The best bet would be to measure the leaf area yourself i.e. Take a digital image of the leaf area within the cuvette and accurately measure the same using a program like GIMP or ImageJ. The PP systems machines can be equipped with a narrow leaf cuvette so it would be worthwhile to get in touch with them to figure out how is the leaf area measured in that case.
YES, I have only default cuvette and therfore, taking image would me OK at this moment. Thanks a lot for your suggestion.
