A symmetric coupled line coupler can be analyzed by using even and odd mode analysis, characteristics impedance and phase velocities can be calculated for both the modes . How to extract the same data after designing from CST or HFSS.
I think you can put the coupled section into CST as a model and a waveguide port at one end will calculate the even and odd mode impedances and wavenumbers, for each mode, as it does for any waveguide port. You will need to allow enough modes, but I think it only needs two. You don't even need to run the whole model, as there is an option just to calculate the ports. Or there is in my version!
You can also do it by using just one mode, and having an electric or a magnetic wall down the centre-line.
Shailendra Singh , To get the permittivity and guided wave parameters in HFSS you can go to the results tap and select solution data. Click gamma, and display all frequencies. This will show guided wavelength and effective permittivity.
Malcolm White is also spot on for the impedances and port solutions!
Malcolm White I have applied this technique "one mode, and having an electric or a magnetic wall down the centre-line". It was working fine. Thank you for your suggestion.
