Capacity estimation for each link in wireless sensor network is a crucial calculation for further steps such as scheduling, routing and so on. Can anyone please help me to understand mechanism to estimate the capacity of each link in multi-hop wireless sensor network?
capacity of the link is an important measure to design network architecture and protocols
in multi-hop wireless nodes : data pass over several links and finally reach the sink.
successfully delivery of data packets depends on the link capacity and link quality at each hop.
several factors ( such as "transmission power of each hop" , "routing" , "rate policies" , "modulation" and "error detection code" chosen by the node control the attainable capacity of each link.
These factors depend on local condition of sensor nodes , then the capacity and delay at each link vary continuously and it is extremely difficult to predict the link quality at each hop.
This is solved by "WMSNs" that is a robust and reliable application should have bounds on these parameters.
