Hi, all,

I am conducting a mediated regression using Model 81 in Hayes' PROCESS Macro for SPSS. I have encountered several difficulties while preparing for analysis.

  • 1. I have multiple IVs, some of which are continuous, and others which are binary, and still others which are categorical. For those variables that are categorical, how can I deal with them, without making them dichotomous?
  • 2. From what I understand, in PROCESS, I am able to input only one IV at a time, and all other IVs are entered as covariates. Given the large number of IVs (6), what would be the best way to handle the interpretation of results?
  • 3. How might this number of IVs affect the strength, either numerically in the results or methodologically, of my analysis?
  • 4. Most IVs' ranges are bounded--that is, there is a set minimum and set maximum. Thus, the range is restricted. How will this affect the analysis?

I would appreciate any primary source citations that you might be able to provide with your answers.

If you have questions, I am happy to screenshot the data or give more information as necessary.

Thanks in advance!
