I am working on ENM, So I have got a raster map with continuous probability. Now I need to convert it into a binary map. I want to know the name of tools on ArcGis and the process for doing it. Or if it can be done in R please help me with the script.
In general, you may use clustering methods to convert a continuous map to a discrete space. Cluster analysis is the most common strategy for discretization. You can use a range of clustering methods for your purpose, for example, those provided in the R package "cluster" (please see the attachment).
In ArcMap the tool is the Conditional tool in Spatial Analyst. You would just type in an equation like Value > 0.5. You can also use the Reclass tool to do the same thing. The bigger question is what threshold to use. There are dozens of papers that have been written on this issue. I'd suggest taking a look at this one.
