Rajatsubhra Mukhopadhyay Good thought.. It may be quite interesting to continue your vedic research pursuits along with medical research by exploring specific questions/ researchable issues in medical research, where the answers (or clues to the answers) can be sourced from the Vedas. For instance, Iam sure, you are quite aware about Maharishi (Saint) Sushrutha, the ancient Indian Physician. He was also the surgeon, known as as the “Father of Surgery” and “Father of Plastic Surgery” for inventing and developing surgical procedures.
Finding a synergy between the health related research being dealt with the vedas and the modern medical research problems.. In nutshell, it is just finding a synergy between ayurveda and the modern medical sciences and research. I don't know, if this makes some sense. I am attaching the link to Sushrutha Samhita here.
As per the wikipedia, Suśrutasaṃhitā, literally "Suśruta's Compendium", is an ancient Sanskrit text on medicine and surgery, and one of the most important such treatises on this subject to survive from the ancient world. The Compendium of Suśruta is one of the foundational texts of Ayurveda (Indian traditional medicine), alongside the Caraka-Saṃhitā, the Bheḷa-Saṃhitā, and the medical portions of the Bower Manuscript. It is one of the two foundational Hindu texts on medical profession that have survived from ancient India.
Modern medicine in based on evidence generated through use of observations and experiments and generally rely on randomized controlled trials to develop new treatments. Some traditional medicine is also based on the experience of people. However, Vedic tradition of gaining knowledge is also based on the exploration of consciousness, developed by the great masters who passed it on over many thousands of years. So, Vedic knowledge needs to be tested using modern scientific methods before accepting them or not for further use.
Yes. That is obviously important. As we are feel the science means science. Physics, chemistry, math etc. Its process of research also will be in that way. As the Veda is one of the oldest heritage of human society and there are many issues and concepts those are still not known to Science , that is to be researched.
I have read and noted them.
But whenever I will go to place them here a confusion will create regarding my field; as I am from medical science.
That is my question. How both this two subjects can be placed here.
