Dear friends, I want to know that how is the resonant frequency of a particular construction material depends on the type of material used(young's modulus)? Does this play any significant role in the choice of material? I have designed a practicle where i am using wires of different material but fixed cross sectiona area. I have calculated the resonat frequecies of all. Now i wishto find out how is it related to the young's modulus and is this a parameter for the choice of construction material?

Here's the relation between fundamental frequency and young's modulus in a very simple example, I guess you can model your own situation in the same manner.
I hope it's useful.
Basically for a single element (let's say a rod) the resonant circular frequency is proportional to the square root of K/m where K is the stiffness and m is the mass of the rod (or whatever element you have). In the same time the stiffness K is proportional to the Young's modulus. So everything else equal the resonant frequency is proportional to the square root of E/ro where ro is the mass density.
