HI Eric. Regarding to cognition, I would investigate based on Piaget studies (assimilation, accomodation, equilibrium states) and Howard Gardner (multiple intelligence classification). If the change is endougenous (routines, processes, operations), you have a different set of variables to look at comparing with exogenous changes (regulation, market pressures and so on). Focusing on the pace of change, it will depend on organisational culture, leadership and the already mentioned individual features of adaptation, assimilation, accomodation.
Wow... Jean Piaget dates back to some years ago. Thanks for the tip I'll be also investigating these areas of studies you mentioned.
