How much minimum accepted distance of cores in the evaluation of Concrete strength? what we can do to retrofit core place and losses of reinforcement?
We have a tunneling project and our construction team used drilled cores to evaluate compressive strength of concrete. Two cores have drilled in a near distance and some of reinforcement is unfortunately cut in sampling process. what we can do to repair the loosing of rebars?

I recommend the size and diameter of the cores to be equal You can use the mortar to repair mortar or high cemented mortar for repair
Instant of normal mortar you can use epoxy based mortar for repairing
It might be possible to weld a splice to the rebar, though it may not be all that reliable. You are undoubtedly working in a very tight space (core cavity) and would have to perform a PMI on the steel to determine if it is even weldable. The metal would also need some sort of preheating. Remember though: you will never fully regain the yield strength of the original rebar, period. Shear strength for that rebar is all but gone. You may also damage the concrete in the process. It's a long shot, but you may find some answers in ACI 318, R3.5.2 .
If all of this can be done, and a small rebar "splice" can be made, then you can fill the cavity with an epoxy-based mortar.
Of course, if you can get an engineer to determine that the loss of continuity in one rebar run will not adversely affect the structural integrity, then I'd say just fill the hole and move on. Bear in mind that this is what most people will do when a core sample goes right through a piece of rebar. I hope this helps!!
