Not knowing exactly what you're after, here is one example. Go to https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed (it's free) and search for "life sciences" with restriction to 1/1/17 - 12/31/17. You get 96,506 publications.
Sorry to diagree: searching for the word life science in PubMed is not the right way to go. If you want to be precise you need to do and advanced search with a "or" of all the Mesh Headings of the different life science fields. Alternatively you can approximate by conisdering that >99% of PubMed publications are in the field of life sciences. In that case you can do a search per year of publication. For example:
As you can see there is an exponential growth in the number of papers being published. Even taking into accound the fact that in the period from 1980 to the end of the 90s PubMed was not indexing a lot of papers from non medical fields (like plant biologiy, insects, fish, etc).
