I've seen fans that get dusty and eventually stop with continual use - particularly computer power supplies, but is there any data or information about how long fans may last if they are idle (ie: only turn on when required for cooling)?
Hi john, As my information every fans are designed at certain working hours at the time of manufacturing and their cost are varies on the basis of designs hence the information which you are looking for are confidential because manufactures not shares but apart from you may get some overviews and data which are available in a generic way i hope that data will help you. I attached a glimpse of some details about a life cycle designs of cooling fan you may just look it and try to know how the things are evolves.
I agree with Shrish. In general terms, products are usuallly designed to operate under stated conditions (i.e., to meet the requirements at hand). Realistically it is impossible to design a product or system for unlimited conditions.
