As I have scanned with Computer Tomography (CT), the result are good. Did with 15 microns. Is there any alternative way to measure than CT, for viewing in a better or higher resolution is priority, to look into the surface of the drilled hole, exactly the fractured cracks in the material.
without section cut (FIB) only nano/micro computer tomography can show inaccessible regions of the material
But I did with CT scan it not satisfying.. is there chance implementing 3D scanner like GOM ATOS III
3d scanner is similar to 3d light profilometry - using light (laser, IR, but light). So it cant go through material. X-Ray or/and uranium radiation is ok but hole is too small. Maybe resolution of your tomograph is too low?
Winstone - how large is the sample and the hole? What resolution do you need? And is the sample in vivo, or ex vivo?
