@Francisko Jurado, I do not agree with "some people" opinion....! I do think that someone should use selfciting if it is necessary, and I do find it is not selfpromotion.
Cite yourself if it´s necessary to explain your work and ideas but don´t forget all the relevant papers from other authors. So nobody will diagnose self promotion. Reviewers are not silly.
