Is there any reason why you would choose T1 carrier over E1 carrier?

i know that E1 carriers can allow 32 time-slots simultaneously at a total bandwith of 2.048Mbps and T1 24 at a total of 1.544Mbps. clearly E1 seems better,or is it?
