Several times I have had e-mails, supposedly from ResearchGate, saying that a researcher hasa asked for a paper, but when I click on the link in the e-mail it takes me to an irrelevant ResearchGate page that does not have any (functional) link to send the paper to the person who asked for it. So I can send it as a message, right? No, because the message function does not work for me either - it will not accept any name in the 'To' box. So we all have website bugs, but there is no 'Contact ResearchGate' e-mail address or form or link anywhere that I can see to report this. These are usually at the bottom on a web page, but you can never get to the bottom of the page - it just adds more and more 'stuff'.
So - how do you ask ReseachGate why their website does not work? Or do we just switch to another academic networking platform?
I think that if a researcher asks several authors for a copy of the paper and one of the authors answered the request already then the link to provide the copy of the paper to the requesting researcher is no longer active.
It might be that if a researcher requests a paper the request is automatically sent to all authors. Once one of the authors answers the request is no loner active (probably to prevent multiple answers). But I agree that there should be a notification system sending a message to all authors that one of the authors answered the request for the paper, without that notification system it might get confusing.
