My little thought:

Our farmers are hard workers and generally less educated. Due to advancement of technology and increase in population, farmers are forced to switch over to expensive cultivation method, use of machinery, fertilizers and skill labor. Thus net profit in agriculture has drastically reduced and sometimes there is a big loss in case of adverse weather condition. They are struggling for survival of their family members (not able to meet high cost of medical treatment, clothes, education etc. apart from food). If we watch on face, most of the people lost smile as used to be there in olden era. Obviously, data sought by any body free of cost is useless for them and time/effort consuming. So, farmer will not be interested at all. To motivate them to contribute valuable data based on their agriculture experience, local social forum must raise fund from our little contributions and help them to bring at seminar/workshop stage by helping their family directly/indirectly (not bribing). This will be one of the ways to motivate them as they will feel that some body is behind them to support in case of emergency need. A psychological approach needed to help them by true heart and not for publicity. Though it is not an easy task but not impossible also. We waste huge energy in making weapons, unnecessary air condition trains, flyovers, fighting wars etc. These consume money. Cutting a fraction of this expenditure and diverting for the above cause may bring wonderful result. Saving a few drops of drinking water by an individual may save life of many and their smiles only can give beautiful data as smiles kill fatigue. Let us make effort.
