Hello,

I am currently employing advanced Marfey's analysis on a small peptide in order to determine absolute configuration of each amino acid. However, I'm having an issue in which the tyrosine residue appears to be degrading or modifying during the hydrolysis (6N HCl, 110 C, 24 hrs).

Does anyone have suggestions on how to prevent this from happening? I've read that adding phenol to the hydrolysis might help but not sure if that works.

Thanks,

Peter
