I have attached the MATLAB code for BER analysis of convolution codes. I want to find the best value of BER using PSO. How do I do it? what is the fitness function that I should choose? Please refer the paper attached, I want to do the exact same thing
Some years back we did a lot of work on passive estimation of BER on uncoded and coded modulation. I can send references. I am not sure what you mean by PSO.
Am I right in thinking that you are trying to do a particle swarm optimisation? That seems to be a hard way to approach this problem and is unlikely to be optimal. The approach we used which we later analysed to find was a 'most efficient estimator' examines the pdf of the incoming signal. It is easy to implement and has optimal performance. The first paper was:
