Hydrogeological studies are needed to capture groundwater. Through radar images you can generate maps of the terrain analysis looking for lines of fracture and fused shadow maps with optical images or geological maps for analysis of surface.
I don't know how you would get info as lineaments from Landsat Images and RADAR. I would find geological maps of the area you are interested in and look for faults. Then you can apply that to what you see in images to make a connection of where water may be.
lineaments are linear features that may be the surface expression of deep faults, fractures, dykes or may be man-made. if you have enough knowledge about the investigated area, the application of directional filters will better. After that you have to refine your lineament map from the man-made lineaments. If you are seeking fractures in basement terrains, dykes must also be removed from your map. Additionally, good knowledge about the tectonic and deformation history of the area will help you to define the directions of the open fractures which are preferable in groundwater exploration in basement terrains.
