Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are considered the backbone of Internet of Things (IoT) according to many recent publications.

WSN alone plays an important role in creating smarter environments and with the help of other techniques that constitute IoT (like RFID, M2M, cloud and fog computing, ...etc.) WSN can step forward towards the ultimate goal of the smart homes, offices, streets, cities which is the concept of the Internet of Things.
