I have modeled a system in openModelica and i want to use this model in matlab and design a controller for it. How can i do this?
i konw, this problem can be solved by use of dymola or fmi(fmu). unfortunately these toolboxes are not free and i can't use them.
Could you guide me please.
We have interfaced Modelica to Python using simple command-line calls which I am sure could also be ported to Matlab. Some relevant code is here (written by Paul Scott):

This approach would be fine provided all your model equations are being implemented in Modelica. A mixed simulation with Modelica + Simulink etc would surely be more difficult. If all you need is to pass parameters to Modelica from Matlab then the above approach might work for you.
