I am currently conducting a quasi experimental study on the use of ChatGPT and other online platforms to support collocation learning and enhance emotional engagement (interest and attitude) among EFL Grade 9 & 10 ss.
The research integrates AI tools during online extensive reading, and I plan to analyse the data using PLS-SEM (SmartPLS 4) to explore the relationships between variables such as collocation knowledge gain, platform engagement, perceived usefulness, self-efficacy, and learner satisfaction.
I would appreciate your insights on the following:
1. Would it be useful to add a moderator or mediator to the model, such as learner autonomy, digital literacy, or motivation?
2. Do you recommend any specific scales to measure emotional engagement or collocation knowledge gains?
3. Has anyone modeled AI tools in L2 vocabulary or collocation learning using PLS-SEM before? I would be grateful for any references or shared frameworks.
