i have been entrusted with task to measure the area of cross section of a furrow(made by farm implemets) through image processing or two camera system but since I am lacking in exposure need aid for the above said purpose.

Hi Sagar. To measure this and get your objective, you should create the depth map obtained from stereo vision technique. Following calibration, you have to extract local features from both stereo pair images via the existing feature detectors such as SIFT etc. then, you can compute disparity map and get the depth map. Hence you can calculate the heights of the furrows and the area also.
