I am having piezo crystal with two wires and would like to vibrate it. I am thinking of giving one side a direct signal from the waveform generator and inverted signal to the other wire. If the crystal vibrates it will produce ultrasonic wave right. (By the way the crystal frequency is 1 MHz)
Also, I would like to step up the voltage of the 1 MHz waveform from 20 vpp to 120 vpp. Please inform me how I can achieve the same.
Use Inverting amplifier with Gain = 1. You will get the inverted waveform.
But you should consider an opamp with a gain-bandwidth product (transit frequency) of at least 50 MHz. And watch the slew rate of the amplifier to be selected.
It depends on the voltage you need and the frequency range. You can put the generator directly on the crystal if you don't need voltage doubling. In two wires case, inversion is just voltage doubling.
Otherwise, if you need higher voltage than the generator can source, but you need less than 10:1 bandwidth, you can use a transformer.
If you preffer opamps instead of transformers, here are a few suggestions:
If you nid high voltage (20Vpk-pk) and 1MHz signal, you could try LM6172 or LM6181. If you need 40Vpk-pk, you should bridge two amplifiers like these. You could try also LT1037 or OPA37. All these chips are bellow 3USD a piece.

Rajeev, at any rate, make use of FET input op amps (CMOS or bipolar devices with JFET inputs). In general, they have a higher slew rate value than completely bipolar counterparts.
