I want to model the plant growth using differential equation;
parameters:
Leaf area index, plant age, crown area,
leaf area index and crown area changes directly with the change of plant age.
my question is what will be the differntial equation of this model.
This topic an is outside my area of expertise, but something that I have interest in. I am sure you are aware of L- systems that have been used to develop an algorithmic approach to plant growth. Lots of open software ( Java) available to play with. Also Mathematica code and Mathematica demonstrations you can download from Wolfram site. But as you note in your query you are interested in a differential equation approach to the problem. - thank you very much Brian G Higgins, very interesting paper, but what i want to try to do is that i want to estimate the plant growth stage based on some factors that indicate to the growth such as NDVI, LAI, or plant productivity all those can be estimated from satellite image, if we developed that differential equation we will be able to estimate the plant growth.
