How can a scientist be succesful in an environment with so many research opportunities but lacks equipment to produce acceptable result?

Africa has a lot of research materials to be worked on but lack of or obsolete equipment is hampering good research result making it difficult to get research published in mainstream journals. Based on the above scenario how can a young researcher carve out a name for his or herself.

Some developing economies lack facilities to carry out adequate and scholarly work. However, it also depends on the type of research work you are embarking. Most studies may be started from parametric perspective and further subjected to validation when funding exist. The latter will keep the researcher informed.
