How ANFIS (adaptive fuzzy inference system ) is an adaptive controller?

I used ANFIS but I want to know how it is an adaptive controller? How can I make an on-line adaptation to it?

No ididn't mean that, i mean how this controller can adapt its membership function during the process (on line adaptation),
