As part of a graduate course, I have prepared two pptx files trying to explain my students how and why the Earth's mantle is forced to partially melt.
It would be very useful for me (and for my students) if some of you could send me his/her feedback on this material, so that I can improve the readability and the overall quality of the slides. I would be very grateful if some of you could suggest me some article or other teaching stuff to modify these slides.

I usually use the attached ppt from Jhon Winter which I find excellent and my students could understand it easily
According to this view the Earth's mantle is essentially made up of undersaturated rocks. I disagree with this definition.

thanks for the files, but I was looking for something more detailed. This stuff is for undergraduate students, while the files I have uploaded are for an advanced petrology course.
Attached you find an updated version of my second file, containing more details on the carbonate-peridotite reactions.
