You can start with acetonitrile and treat it with potassium tert-butoxide in toluene at 80C for 1hr then reflux for 5 hr to prepare 3-amino-2- Butenenitrile I. Reaction of I with H2O and HCl will furnish your target molecule. See the enclosed files
