I'm currently working on my undergraduate thesis in Architecture school and our theme is Mega-city: combating the problems of urbanization through Architecture. I decided to study the reformation of the city justice system - to improve it in preparation of the impending pressure brought by urbanization and population growth. I was planning to use the structural-functionalism theory of sociology to support my study. Any thoughts on this? Is this a good idea? Any suggestions?
Certainly, taking a theory-driven approach, I don't think that there is anything wrong with this; indeed, for an undergraduate thesis, given the calls on your time, and the requirement to show facility with what you have learned, it could be the most functional (forgive the pun) approach.
