Not only in Germany many public spaces are conflict zones of rightwing and racist attacks on migrants, homosexuals, alternative leftists etc. The social sciences (like human geography, sociology, urban studies) are seemingly not yet very committed to this issues. Are there examples from other disciplines or backgrounds (Greece, France, Scandinavia)?

I guess you know the German literature already. If you read French, you'll find elements about the influence of neonazi demonstrations on public space in Eastern-Germany in Delphine Iost's articles.
