if you are using MATLAB, you can find the below code helpful. The function generates heatmap using kernel density estimation of the fixation points.

function generateHeatmap(fixationCoord, backgroundImagePath, screenResolution)

% fixationCoord: Contains coordiantes of fixation point. First column

% correspond to x coordinate of fixation and second column correspond to y

For generating scanpath, you can consider saccades between two fixation points.

Recently, I came across Visual Eye-tracking analytics (VETA) toolbox. It can plot the scanpath using fixation coordinates only. Additionally, you can also visualize short saccades and glances using this toolbox. Here is the link to the paper.

I have quite generated the heatmaps before but those were not accurate enough, my main focus is on scanpath, I went through the link you provided for scanpath but not getting the full text. can you please tell me where can I get that ?

Mohammed Aatif Shahab I have already read the paper online but can not find this VETA toolbox online. Is this a kind of software ?

You can open the folder corresponding to your system configuration. For example, after downloading, I opened the folder named "application.windows64". In this folder there is an application "VETA.exe". Run the application. It will open the user interface. You need to load a background image and a csv file containing time series of fixation data. Refer to the paper for more details on usage.
