“Recursive” simply means that each step you take in your writing process will feed into other steps: after you've drafted an essay, for instance, you'll go do a bit of verification of some of your facts—and if you discover that you've gotten something wrong, you'll go back to the draft and fix it.
Recursive Process
Writing is a process that involves at least four distinct steps: prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing. It is known as a recursive process. While you are revising, you might have to return to the prewriting step to develop and expand your ideas.
“Cursive” comes from the Latin word currere, meaning “to run.” Combine this meaning with the English prefix “re-” (to do again), and you have some clues for the meaning of “recursive.”
Each part of essay writing process (given in figure) as a step is not to be visited just once in a particular order. It generally begin with invention and end with editing, but each part of the process as a valuable way of thinking that can be revisited again and again until we as a writer are confident that the final essay as an outcome effectively meets their goals.
To write is to re-write. There are processs that could begin with a plan, following transcription and, then revision and edition. But, if you note that something is not working, you can go back, even to make changes since the plan. That is why writing is for me a recursive process.
