While designing the electrically small antenna, I see error in calculating solver matrix in CST Studio Suite 2025. For the port, I mimicked the SMA connector (inner pin, teflon and outer ring) and used waveguide port. It is showing that "Detected regions with short-circuited PEC/PTC material. (This may happen if the mesh is too coarse in regions where small gaps are embedded in PEC/PTC material)"
I checked the design and there is no overlapping. Also, the same design got simulated in CST 2022 without any error.
How should I fix this issue?
The “short-circuited PEC/PTC” error encountered in CST Studio Suite 2025 typically arises in SMA-like port structures due to the mesh failing to resolve narrow dielectric gaps accurately. To address this issue, local mesh refinement around the port region can be applied, or the waveguide port can be replaced with a discrete port to improve stability. Slightly shortening the inner conductor to avoid zero-thickness contacts, verifying material assignments, and introducing small geometric tolerances can also help eliminate the error. If the design runs without issues in CST 2022, re-importing the model into CST 2025 as a clean project may resolve compatibility-related artifacts.
