Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Government of India initiative, aims to increase efficiency in government payment systems and strengthen social protection delivery.
Enlist the parameters/metrics to evaluate DBT readiness among common people.

Such a question would involve a cost-benefit analysis. If you are trying to understand how much value will be placed on DBT by the beneficiaries, you can look at methods such as willingness to pay and hedonic pricing surveys to evaluate how much economic benefit can the population can accrue from DBT and comparable subsidy mechanisms. This should be able to tell you the relative preferences for both DBT and other subsidy mechanisms.
DBT is the attempt of the GOI to transfer subsidies directly in the accounts of (needy) people. One problem might be that the most disadvantaged persons not even have bank accounts and might have even challenges to find banks accepting them. At least this challenge is often highlighted in the literature. The national child labour program, school scholarships and LPG subsidy are part of the DBT, but many more schemes are covered.......
It should reduce the possibility of misusing the support by government as it was often reported y other schemes such as the PDS, where not payment, but food entitlements were provided at subsidized cost......
