I've been in trouble to use urethane in balb/c mice. No sedation with low doses (1mg/g) and they dye with higher dose (2,2mg). Any suggestion? I did not find citations of urethane use in balb/c mice.

I found this paper, Article Effects of anesthetics on systemic hemodynamics in mice
it could be usefull since they overcome to your same problem by using repetute injection of urethane.
