Recently I have been discussing with friends about emotional intelligence, it amazes me that their first reaction is sort of diminish the concept and some even call it funny. So, it makes me wonder if it really matter for one to be called emotionally intelligent in our contemporary world.
As someone who worked in Corporate HR and Training, I can say with confidence that it does have an impact, but it's size and scale to make organisation-wide impact is grossly exaggerated.
My colleague and I conducted a few studies exploring the effects of emotional intelligence training in graduate fluency disorders courses.Students reported very significant benefits of such training for their professional preparation.
