Help needed finding a quantitative or preferably quantitative survey instrument, that has become acclaimed in assessing self-reported exposures in frequency, intensity and timing of any forms of police violence. Thank you!
It seems to me that many of your questions should be phrased, "Is there....?" Maybe when you can't find what you're looking for, it may mean that it's not there? Do you know what you do then?
Your subject pool is NOT standardized; e.g., visible minorities keep silent to protect themselves. Further, in some cultures women are subjugated as a cultural standard - thus women in that culture are NOT in any way comparable to women in a culture that allows some assertiveness. Survey instruments probing fearful topics are often unreliable and invalid; e.g., women of subjugating cultures often give different answers to male interviewers, or to female interviewers of their own culture compared to females of an alien culture. Thanks Tony, Paul and Ellarwee for your vital perspectives! Based on Melanie's suggestion i.e The Police-Public Contact Service (PPCS) developed by the BJS, I am most likely going to adapt that instrument to better suit my variables of interest. Many thanks!
