I have a long literature review I wrote prior to having/using EndNote. When I created this document, I manually typed out each of my in text citations.
now I am using EndNote to insert citations.
For this old document is there anyway to update my "manually written" in text citations to End Note inserted ones, without re-doing them all? All of the references used in this document are in my end note library already.
You can use this tool https://text2bib.economics.utoronto.ca/ to convert your text in bibteX which allows you to import it later in endnote. But, as mentioned, conversion is not perfect, it depends on your references.
For in-text citations, there is really no advantage to inserting them with EndNote. As long as you have an EndNote group with all your citations in it, you can leave your manually-created citations as they are and use EndNote to generate your reference list.
