I have English alphabets as images I want to save it like, the 'a' characters images should be saved in folder named 'a', the 'b' character should be saved in folder named 'b', the 'c' should be saved in corresponding folder named 'c' and so on up to 'z'. how can this be done in a loop?

if the images are saved with a file name representing the folder name you want to save it as, then you can try something similar to my code below:
imagenames={dir('*.jpg')}
Imagenames=imagenames{:}.name
[path folderlist ext]=fileparts(imagenames)
for i=1:length (imagenames)
mkdir(folderlist(i))
movefile(imagenames(i), [ '../' folderlist (i)])
end
