I would like to conduct research in sustainable business operations. I am just getting started so if you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks
This question is still so wide, it is almost impossible to answer. I suggest you start with what you have: what does your first degree give you? What access to businesses do you have yourself, or could be arranged through advisors? Ask yourself which industry and which type of organisations (multinational, consultancies, start-ups) you are most interested in. Start reading on those topics (try finding review articles at first, which may give the quickest overview of a field). Iteratively shape your focus and research questions. If you post answers to above questions the community will be more able to help with suggestions.
ISO 26000 is the most comprehensive guideline for sustainability management. If you are more interested in CSR reporting, I would highly recommend the GRI guidelines. Both can be seen on their web pages.
