There's a documentary association.  There may still be an educational documentary association.  Try googling it to find these.  I have produced several short documentary films myself, most recently on Internet Book Piracy, which should be of concern to anyone who writes books.

 Most of my courses (Geology / Geography) depend on short videos to demonstrate the content. Little learning without videos. I have taped most of these over the years, but youtube videos today cover a wide spectrum. They have to be selected with great care. I emphasize they have to be short in duration to explain/demonstrate the subject on hand.

MI  in cases such as yours, that is, when you're making a point and showing immediately a n example, it is importante how brief you may and must be. If you were perchance showing strata accumulated over millennia this could have a slight difference: how can you embrace a whole paleo era and its divisions and fronteers and locales in just five minutes? We speak of the same thing; it is just that all your short films could be connected (I hope they are!) in a way such that a doc of 55mins come out of them. 

SZ  thank you for your suggestion. I went after it and found another important source of information and ideas. It would be uncomprehensible that Germany would not have modern educating means at the midst of the Industrial Revolution, in order to organize its work force adequately in terms of traininig and education. SS, music is one of my favorite discipline and area of activity, though folk music is a bit too specific as far as Education goes. Nothing against it, on the contrary; t'is just not my present digging region. Thanks anyway.

FYI, some of the films are about topics other than music.  I urge you to just take a look at what's there. I have three of my films (out of a dozen made) on repertoire, personality,  and traditional designs for an individual quilter; one on a now famous chainsaw carver; and yet another on urban legends.  I have also written Documenting Ourselves (1998), which you may find useful.  All of these films and ideas have been used in education.   Good luck with your project.

I did look at your suggested site and by and large found no specific relation to what I am now searching and researching, though for sure, many things are connected deeper than we may even think. Let me have some time and I'll look it up again.

Oi Mirian, obrigado pela sua paciência e interesse no assunto em pauta; no passado encontrei pouquíssimas menções ao assunto grafadas por escritores nacionais, o que, no meu entender de modesto pesquisador, demonstram-se todos, ou quase todos, conhecedores menos profundos dele.

Como v e os títulos dos textos  demonstram, os que aqui se apresentam têm as suas posições em datas um tanto avançadas no passado; evidente que consulta-los é obrigação de quem quer que seja que se dedique ao tema.

É o que farei n'alguns casos. Já Edgar Morin é leitura mandatória para um tudo, não lhe parece?

Mas, levanto essa questão de time/space porque as grandes modificações da tecnologia do ramo (por exemplo, a HDTV) tem-se dado entre nós exatamente nos últimos dois para três anos, quer dizer, ainda não foram entendidas e detectadas pelos pesquisadores nacionais; digo isso como um todo, mas claro, posso estar equivocado.
