Do you think assessing scale's content and face validity are essential if you translated and adapted a well developed scale that already have good psychometric properties?
Content validity and face validity are technical descriptions of the judgment that a scale looks reasonable which is the judgment by a group of experts of whether or not the scale or items appear appropriate for the intended purpose (Streiner & Norman, 1995). Accordingly some authors call it “validity by assumptions”. The authors suggested that, though content validity is subjective, it is a requirement for new measure. Essentially, when we use adapted scales having sound psychometric properties, it is not a “necessity” to test content/face validity. You would probably read many high-impact journal articles that used adapted scales where content/face validity are not reported.
