Microbial studies need to give better correlation with physico-chemical parameters in anaerobic digestion, but in the case of solid waste is it possible?
I agree, It depends more on the type of solid waste. In general, it coudl be a good correlation for large number of samples, but a few probes taken from different depth can give opposite values.
At Integrated BioChem we have taken a rather different approach. Looking at the issue from a commercial view point, we came to the conclusion that counting the various microbes was not a (commercially) productive approach. Instead we focused on how do you manage the microbial community to be more productive. The approach has proved productive as it has shown us how to convert many different organic wastes into industrial chemicals over nigh using the microbial community.
