Discussion inactivation of SARS in 2004 through various means, including acidic PH level of less than 3 or an alkaline Ph level of greater than 12 .
Could acidic foods like lemons, or foods with weak bases that break down into acidic byproducts, be used to inactivate Coronaviruses in the gut to reduce spread in communities?

I think this is a very good question, but you should extend it to include ANY method that would alter pH, electrolytes, metabolites and the physiological and chemical environment of the viruses.
If you read some of the literature on care and feeding of viruses - where they need to be grown for many reasons - you will find they are sensitive to a host of things, including pH, temperature, salinity, mix of nutrients and possibly essential components.
This is not related to your question directly, but I found a very interesting article on Arxiv.org a couple of days ago. I treat nothing as casual or unimportant. Change in diet, foods, over-the-counter-drugs, exercise -- anything that might affect the balance of fluid in the lungs, or in the cells or inter-cellular medium, might make a difference. When you do not know, you check everything.

Dear all, when it is to go to both sides extreems of pH, one should think about if the human body and organs will withstand that. Neutral or slightly basic pH are known to reduce or even neutralise many deseases, such as cancer and viruses. Many foods have such ability to modulate the pH. For fast regulation of pH, solutions of sodium bicarbonate is the cheapest home made solution. By the way Lemons turn to basic once it is inside the body. My Regards
