Is there any polymer that is intrinsically conducting? All the "conducting polymers" that I am aware of are doped semiconducting polymers, so that there is a continuum of electrical conductivity depending on the doping level for a given type of semiconducting polymer. In that sense, it doesn't seem possible to categorize along a certain conductivity value, unlike with metal elements vs. semiconductor elements.
to understand this you should focus on the band gap. Each polymer has its own specifications and methods of preparation to be pure conducting or semiconducting. Regards
