As reported in the paper the procedure is analogous to the one reported on JACS 1951, just reflux an ethanol/water mixture containing a 1:1 maolar ratio of the two reagents following the reaction by TLC. Let me know if you need a copy of the paper on JIBC By Arguelles et al. where the full characterization is reported.
