Can we use Harmonic Mean instead of Airthmatic Mean for time series smoothing?

Generally, we use airthmatic mean (AM) for computing the moving average and finding out a smooth trend in a time series.

When we are working with ratio/rate series (complaint rate, air density etc), it is recommended to summarize the mean of the data using harmonic mean (HM) not AM. In the same line, can we use HM to smoothen the time series of ratio/rate data?
