I'm working on DC microgrids and their interconnection with utility grids at distribution level. The converter topology I've selected to boost DC link voltage of microgrid is Interleaved Fly-back Converter.
Can this be effective than conventional DC-DC boost converters?

At the power and voltage levels for a real microgrid, flyback converter will not work because of several issues like higher blocking voltage requirement, higher current ripple etc. I would suggest you to look into single- and/or three-Phase dual-active Bridge topology.

assuming you want to use the converter for MPP tracking purposes: flyback converters are not the best choice. Low cost is "paid" with low(er) efficiency. If you need the isolation, forward or push-pull converters are superior.
Anyway, if you don't need the isolation feature at this point, I'd try a DC/DC boost converter without isolation. Here you can achieve higher efficiencies with simpler topologies.
I think that all depends of the output to input vopltage ratio, and the power. Difficult to advise as you do not give any information.
If the voltge ratio is reasonable and you do not need isolation, then a boost is the best option and you can use an interleaved boost.
But for very high voltage ratios and low power, a flyback is probably the best choice (interleaved or not).
